The owners of "Aillebaun" work in close cooperation with TJ's Angling Center.

The owners specialise in angling holidays and are keen anglers themselves. They have boats for hire and also provide an excellent ghillie service. They provide access to new swims on Lough Derg which last season yielded huge bags of bream, roach and perch. A bait fridge is provided on the premises.

The River Shannon, Lough Derg and the Clare Lakes, all of which are nearby, are excellent course fisheries and annually produce record bags of bream, roach, tench, perch, hybrids and of course, pike. Many pike in excess of 20 lbs. are landed and released each season. Salmon fishing is available at Castelconnell on a day ticket basis. Trout fishing is best during the month of May, dapping and dry or wet fly , but trout may also be taken trolling at other times.

Sea fishing in the River Shannon estuary or in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of County Clare can be arranged.

Killaloe has 2 fishing clubs. St. Flannan's Fishing Club holds competitions almost every Sunday. New members are wellcome. Day tickets may also be purchased.

On the 24th of September 2003 the 6th International Masterline Pike Fly Angling Challenge will be held. This event which was first run in 1998 has proved to be a great success and will be keenly contested again this year. kevingrimes@iol.ie
